🤲🏽Duʿa for the Quiet Battles – When Only Allah Knows What You’re Going Through
Bismillāh.
This is a reminder first to myself, written in need, not from a place of knowing, but hoping.
If it benefits you too, then All Praise is due to Allah سبحانه وتعالى alone.
Some struggles aren’t visible. They’re the kind that sit deep in the chest: an aching uncertainty, a habit we want to change, a heavy silence between prayers. No one sees them but Allah.
And in those moments, duʿa becomes a lifeline.
“And your Lord said, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’”
(Sūrah Ghāfir 40:60)
There are no requirements for eloquence, no condition of perfection. If your heart turns, He listens.
🔐 The Power of Hidden Supplication
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Your Lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to Him.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud 1488)
Duʿa is honoured. It’s part of ‘Ubudiyyah. Even when whispered with trembling words.
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said duʿa is “the weapon of the believer.” It's not just something we do at the end of difficulty. It is part of the fight itself. It’s our link, our complaint, our confession, and our hope.
And the best part: Allah سبحانه وتعالى never tires of hearing you.
📌 A Letter to Myself
Dear self,
You don’t need to feel strong before you speak to your Rabb. You don’t need the “right words.” He already knows your state.
Make duʿa not just for outcomes. Instead for clarity. For consistency. For the strength to keep showing up even when no one else sees your effort.
“Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were humbly submissive to Us.”
(Sūrah al-Anbiyā’ 21:90)
Ask in hope. Ask in fear. And if all you can do is whisper, that’s still enough.
🧭 What I Try When I Don’t Know What to Say
Whisper “Yā Rabb”, even if no other words come. He knows the rest.
Make duʿa during Sujuud, when I feel closest to His mercy, even without eloquence.
Write it down. Sometimes the pen finds the words my tongue can’t.
Ask in my language, from my heart.
Don’t wait for emotion. Sincerity first. I need to make duʿa even when I feel distant.
Duʿa is not always answered by removing the test. But du’a is never wasted.
🧵 Constant Duʿa for all the Days
اللهم أعني على ذكرك، وشكرك، وحسن عبادتك
Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibadatika
O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner
(Riyad as-Salihin 1422)
🪴 A Reminder to My Future Self
In sha’ Allah;
If you ever feel like your duʿa is too small, too messy, or too late - it isn’t.
Allah has never turned away a sincere servant.
And your silent duʿa, made on a regular day in a quiet moment, may be the very thing that saves you.
He is never absent.
He is not unaware.
He is Al-Samiʿ - the All-Hearing.
Sincerely,
still learning, still trying —
your sister in need of Allah.
